F.M. Alexander (1869-1955)
Books about the Technique
Much has been written about the Alexander Technique. To try and choose from the many, many titles would be a difficult task, so here are just few of my recommendations.
This is a new, pocket size, very accessible and quite short book (I read it on a two hour flight) which gives a comprehensive introduction to the principles of the Alexander Technique.
The first book I ever read on the Technique in '94. Wilfred Barlow trained with Alexander and was the first doctor to do so. I couldn't put it down when I read it, and I find it just as readable today.
This is the most famous, and by far the shortest of any of Alexander's books. It describes how he
discovered the principles of what became the Alexander Technique.
